#bookreview: 'Kaneko's Story: A Conversation with Kaneko Ikeda'....................................................................

I recently read this book and it had a great impact on me. The book reminices about life & accomplishments of Kaneko Ikeda as the mother of 3 sons & the wife of Daisaku Ikeda, President of the SGI. Also her Childhood memories & thoughts on freindship, family & marriage.
This book is an autobiographical account of Kaneko Ikeda, wife of the President of the Soka Gakkai, Daisaku Ikeda. For the very first time she speaks of her life–the events that influenced it and the passion and vision that powered it. What emerges in this book is the picture of an extraordinary woman who successfully combined the roles of a wife, mother and supporter of a worldwide peace movement. Simply told, her story provides hope and inspiration to all those who struggle to straddle several worlds. Most importantly what emerges her constant return to the basepoint of faith and the warmth and compassion her being that so eloquently and beautifully expresses itself in her unforgettable smile.
She is a remarkable women. Her life experience and compassion make this reading encouraging and rewarding. She is role model to all women and men.
She is a living example of how one can accumulate good fortune though all circumstances and be the silent powerhouse that fuels one's own ambitions and provide strength to every one around.
This book is a dedication to Kaneko from her sons. This very thought itself shows what a mother she is! Right from her humble beginnings to how she set up a family amidst all troubles and how she grew up her sons. Each and every nuance of the book is very relevant to a mother. I am sure all mothers especially who are into Buddhism practise like me should have a copy of this book! Its just soooooo inspiring! It empowered me, made me want to grow to become a lovely strong family woman, always being there for the family yet not losing my own identity. As soon as I read it, it filled me with hope, joy and optimism.
Friends, do read it... Happy parenting and more power to women!
