THE ‘NOT SO SECRET’ GARDEN OF DUBAI Who wouldn’t love to live amid lush greenery, with charming courtyards and open plazas — all at a reasonable price?

Aside from creating a peaceful vibe for residents, the trees and parks at The Gardens in Dubai also motivate people to step out of their homes and get active. A lot of families choose to reside in the community primarily because of the convenience it offers. Schools, clinics and churches, as well as the Ibn Battuta Mall, are all close by.

It’s a very warm community. We celebrate all the festivals and milestones together. Everyone here is like a family and helps and supports you unconditionally.” -Sonal Chhibber, resident

Anyone who is into that distinct Mediterranean style of living would be captivated as soon as he drives into The Gardens community in Dubai, near the Ibn Battuta Mall.

Boasting of lush gardens, playgrounds, swimming pools and tennis courts, The Gardens is a development by Nakheel and has 129 low-rise buildings with more than 3,800 one, two and threebedroom apartments.

The community structure is different from those in other areas of Dubai as the buildings are designed in a way that helps create secluded courtyards and open plazas.

A resident at The Gardens for five years, Sonal Chhibber, said the community is ‘perfect’ for families because of the convenience it offers. Malls, schools and shops are all just a stone’s throw away. A resident at The Gardens for five years, Sonal Chhibber, said the community is ‘perfect’ for families because of the convenience it offers. Malls, schools and shops are all just a stone’s throw away. “It’s a very warm community. We celebrate all the festivals and milestones together. Everyone here is like a family and helps and supports you unconditionally. It’s like a home away from home,” she said.

“There are lots of greenery, sunlight, and the Ibn Battuta Mall is nearby. Shops and clinics are Within walking distance, and there are a number of parks and leisure spots for kids. The rent is quite reasonable, too. There are lots of festivals that take place here, as well as health sessions like free yoga and pilates.”

She said that her three kids, in particular, enjoy living at The Gardens because of the sports facilities that have been made available to the residents. “We don’t think of moving anywhere else as all our needs are met here. Our kids love the different sports activities and playground areas here. They go for karate, swimming and tennis classes, plus they play with their friends on football, basketball and cricket grounds. Besides, the kids’ swings area is just opposite our building, so it’s quite a nice ambience. There is also a kitchen garden right outside, which excites the kids as they see new vegetables and get to learn about healthy eating habits,” she added.
