Mental Health

Mental health is important : I think that majority of individuals live with a mental illness of some sort. I think we are all afflicted with some trait or characteristic that would make us “not normal”. What is normal anyway? Who decided what the criteria was for determining normalcy. I have many many people in my life who I know struggle with things like anxiety, addiction, depression, OCD, bipolar, BPD, schizophrenia, and many more things. But we aren’t supposed to talk about that because for some reason, the rest of the world decided that we should be ashamed. Leave your shame. I, and others like me, are just as worthy of life, prosperity and freedom to live our lives as we see fit. If you happen to be someone who judges others based on what you perceive to be some weakness or deformity, check this poem of mine:

"Don't judge, just understand..."

Just because I smile very much, It doesn't mean that I don't have problems as such, I do face turmoil and strife, It's just that I try to to look past the negatives in my life. Just because I laugh a lot, It doesn't mean I am happy with what I got, My life is not perfect nor am I, But I never give up, I always try. You think you know me and my story, But life has not been full of joy and glory, You don't know what my journey has been all about, Coz I don't show my pain nor I shout. Just because I prefer not to talk, It doesn't mean I will let you stalk, I like to share happiness not grief, That's why discuss my feelings in brief. Just because I have some scars and let myself be, It doesn't give anyone right to judge me, The scars mean that I'm real and strong, So try to understand me and don't get me wrong. I hope people look past my woes, And be my friends and not foes, Try to see the real me behind the mask, I know it's a difficult task, But please let me live the life the way I deem right, Coz I believe there is sunshine after a dark night. Remember all have a not so worthy past, But it's time to create a positive change that will last!
